Monday, July 13 – Thursday, July 16: Summer VWP Work Period
Note: Reunion 2026 (separate registration) is Thursday, July 16 – Sunday, July 19
1 Morgan Place, Yellow Springs OH USA
This form will register you for Volunteer Work Project only. The VWP work period officially ends Thursday evening. (Summer VWP registrants will be notified via email when Reunion registration is live.)
For years, the Alumni Volunteer Work Project has exemplified service and stewardship. This uniquely Antiochian Project is a great way to stay involved with the college, connect with other alumni, and have a positive impact on the future of Antioch while having good food and fun conversations.
Housing of volunteers in a dorm may be limited for Summer VWP, and if available, may require "doubling up" with a roommate. Options:
a) Go 'own plans' at area commercial accommodations (click here for a list with links)
or
b) Request assistance (via registration form) seeking accommodations in a dorm OR from a limited number of local alumni who have offered to make a room available.
Plan ahead: Yellow Springs is a popular tourist destination.
Generally, our meals will be at CSK (except "cooks' night off"), starting with breakfast Monday morning (coffee and cold breakfast offerings will be available at 7:30am; hot offerings available at 8:00am), followed at 9:00am by the organizational meeting for project tasking. All VWP Volunteers are welcome to enjoy the Thursday Reunion Dinner, whether or not they are staying for Reunion.
Volunteers have access to the Wellness Center & Olive Kettering Library.
Anti COVID protocols - while not "required," in consideration of your fellow volunteers please:
Get boosted for COVID (and flu while you are at it), if it's been a while since your last jab and you are able to do so, remembering it takes a couple of weeks to be fully effective.
Self-administer a home COVID test before travelling to YS.
If you are driving or renting a car and can offer local rides to others without a vehicle, please let us know.
If you need transportation from the airports or bus stations, retired longtime staff and volunteer Amy gives rides for a suggested donation from Dayton and Columbus. She's at (830) 353-7865 or amys125horserjrbrocks@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you in July! Early arriving volunteers usually meet at Ellie's for a no-host brunch on Sunday (7/12) morning at 10:30 am. Later, on Sunday evening, we will kick off with a welcome "SOCIAL HOUR" at 5:00 pm at the Coretta Scott King Center.
